Prince William and Kate Middleton are considering taking up a key post at Kensington Palace after a new video gave a positive update on the Duchess’ health.
Princess Kate and Prince William are searching for a new employee as fans await the return of the mother of their three children. Kensington Palace is looking for someone to handle communications for the Prince and Princess of Wales regarding their appointments and projects.
The full-time position will require travel between the Royal residences and accompanying Prince William and Kate Middleton on their overseas visits.
The successful candidate, who will be based at Kensington Palace, must be able to handle “sensitive information” with “tact and discretion” at all times, depending on the job description.
News of her palace role comes after reports emerged that the Duchess hopes to attend the national memorial service at the Cenotaph in November if she is well.
It comes after the Duchess gave a candid insight into her recovery, confirming that she has completed preventive chemotherapy. She said she intends to briefly return to royal duties but her main focus is “staying cancer-free”
According to The Sunday Times, the princess may also attend the annual televised Together at Christmas concert, which she hosts from Westminster Abbey.
After a “relaxing” summer at her Welsh home Anmer Hall in Norfolk, the Duchess is reportedly starting to think about the coming months.
Since her cancer diagnosis, Kate competed for the first time in six months at Trooping the Colour in June, and made her first public appearance at the Wimbledon men’s final in July.
No date has been set for her return to public life, but the princess is likely meeting more regularly as she works from home.
She is not expected to compete with William at the Earthshot Prize in November. Kate did not attend the ceremony in Singapore last November.
In an update ahead of Trooping, she said in an emotional written message that she was making good progress but was “not out of the woods yet” and would “have good days and bad days” during her treatment.
On Friday 6 September, the princess said she looked forward to “working alongside” Britain’s new chief scout, Dwayne Fields.
A personal welcome message from Kate, co-president of the Scouts of Wales, was posted to the official social media accounts of the Scouts of Wales.
Kate’s cancer diagnosis is one of two health setbacks suffered by the royal family in the second year of King Charles’ reign.
In February, the king was diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer during a routine prostate exam.
King Charles has gradually returned to official duties, making dozens of visits, meetings and events.
Camilla and Duchess of Cornwall were in high spirits and laughing as they attended the Braemar Gathering Highland Games on Saturday.
