Former England football star Wayne Rooney once won an auction hosted by David Beckham to attend a party in New York hosted by disgraced rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Wayne Rooney once bid a staggering £150,000 for an invitation to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ party. The former England footballer participated in David Beckham’s 2006 World Cup charity auction with a slew of other famous people. The disgraced rapper joined Beckham on stage in the evening to auction off a weekend spent partying in New York with himself.
Diddy stated in his stage speech: I’m feeling generous. Since I don’t really spend a lot of time here or know the people, I’d like to auction something off. If you win, you can choose between two options. Choice A is spending a full weekend on the water in East Hampton, New York, at my house in the Hamptons.
“Number 2 is a studio session with me in New York or London, and I will produce a record for you and your children,”reads the contract. Or, number three, a Saturday night out in New York with Diddy, and I promise your a** will lay beside me on Wednesday. When Graham Norton started the auction, everyone in the crowd laughed and cheered.
Wayne Rooney, a legend at Manchester United, won it in the end, as Diddy joked: Additionally, it is limitless. You can remain for quite some time. This is only the beginning, this is only the beginning.” Wayne asked Diddy if he could bring a friend for £150,000, to which Diddy replied: It’s possible to bring the entire football team.
Wayne was also assured by Diddy that he would be a “changed man” when he got home. The rap artist stated: We’ll probably become cousins when he moves to New York. With a lot of sexy women, it will be a party that never ends.” Later, Diddy claimed that Wayne’s then-girlfriend Coleen, Wayne’s wife, prevented him from going to New York.
On September 16, Combs was taken into custody in New York City on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn after multiple bail refusals. Combs has denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
On Tuesday, September 17, his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, told the media outside of the court: Mr. Combs is a fighter, and he will fight this to the bitter end. He is not guilty. In order to prove his innocence, he traveled to New York. He has no fear, and neither do the charges. Since his arrest, details about his past have made headlines. Many fans are looking for information about the notorious parties he hosted that attracted major A-list stars.
Some of the charges brought against Combs claim that he kidnapped people, controlled their careers, and verbally, emotionally, physically, and sexually abused victims. Other aspects of the charges brought against him claim that he manipulated a number of women to participate in highly sexual activity with male sex workers. Tony Buzbee, a lawyer in Texas, said on Tuesday that he was representing 120 more alleged victims who said Combs abused them for 25 years.
