Strictly Come Dancing has said goodbye to its fourth star after a thrilling dance contest.
JB Gill and Amy Dowden danced again alongside Paul Merson and Karen Hauer after finishing in the bottom two in the dancing competition. The four judges – Anton du Beke, Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse – were asked to give their verdict on who should stay in the competition and all passed on JB and Amy.
So it’s time for Paul and Karen to say goodbye to the Strictly dance floor – but before Paul leaves the dance floor for good he has to say goodbye to his beloved Arsenal team rivals Tottenham.
When asked about his time on the show, he told presenter Tess Daly: “It was a great experience. I tell everyone I talk to that they have to be on the show. It’s incredible, the whole thing,” he said, before jokingly adding, “There’s a Tottenham fan over there called Lincoln and even he’s sweet!”
Turning his attention to his professional dance partner Karen, he added: “It’s incredible, honestly, incredible. I have had an amazing teacher and I loved every minute of it. She’s incredible, absolutely amazing, I couldn’t have asked for a better coach. I loved every minute.
I can dance now – I won because I can dance. I couldn’t dance before and now I can dance about half way through, so that’s a bonus, an absolute bonus.”
Karen also praised Paul for being everything he is on Strictly and acknowledged his incredible progress. She said: “You’ve certainly brought me joy, I’ve never laughed so much and my abs are really toned now. I’m so proud of you and you’ve grown every time you’ve been there.
Strictly is what you guys are all about and I want to thank you for bringing so much joy and showing everyone that it’s possible with a little effort and a lot of laughter.” It’s an extravaganza that will see the 11 remaining celebs don their spookiest costumes and perform numbers to the best Halloween songs.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 26 October at 6.25pm
