Tommy Robinson was filmed being arrested after visiting Canada for his podcast tour.
Calgary officers handcuffed the 41-year-old right-wing activist on suspicion of immigration offences and took him to the back of a police van.
Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, said he was released late Monday but had to surrender his passport to Canadian authorities.
I am currently being detained in Calgary and am not being allowed to leave the city. These circumstances have prevented me from continuing my Canadian tour or meeting my podcast guests. I’m not even allowed to leave the country to go home.
In a video posted to his X account, he asked what he was being held for. Can I get a lawyer? Can you tell me what I’m being arrested for?’
He was scheduled to make additional podcast appearances in Edmonton and Toronto as part of his “three-city tour.”
