Phil Foden has temporarily withdrawn from England’s European Championship camp in Germany for “urgent family matters”.
The 24-year-old Manchester City star played in the team’s 0-0 draw with Slovenia last night.
A Football Association (FA) spokesman said the father of two “has temporarily left England camp for urgent family matters and returned to the UK”.
Foden and his girlfriend are reportedly pregnant with their third child.
Last night’s result was enough for Gareth Southgate’s side to progress as Group C winners.
The Three Lions have faced criticism for their poor group performance but are in the best position to reach the knockout stages.
Foden played in England’s three Group C matches in Germany.
It is unclear whether he will be fit for Sunday’s round of 16 match.
