India’s flag carrier, Air India, has launched flights on the Delhi-Dubai route with its new Airbus A350-900 aircraft, marking the international debut of the airline’s recently acquired aircraft, on Thursday.

Air India customers flying between Delhi and Dubai can book tickets to experience the new livery of the A350. The service began on May 1, the airline said in a statement. This will make Air India the only airline to operate A350 aircraft between India and Dubai.

The start of the flight was celebrated with pre-departure ceremonies at Delhi and Dubai airports, where guests were presented with souvenirs of the A350.

The Indian airline, which was acquired by the Tata Group in 2022, currently operates a total of 72 weekly flights to Dubai from five Indian cities, including 32 from Delhi. There is.

Last year, Air India confirmed orders for 250 Airbus aircraft and 220 new Boeing jets worth $70 billion at list price. In a bid to regain lost market share, Tata has poured billions of dollars into new investments to modernize Air India’s fleet, improve service and expand its domestic and international network.

Airline Configuration

A long-range airliner, the Airbus A350-900 accommodates 300 to 350 passengers in a three-class configuration and has a range of 15,000 kilometers.

Air India’s A350 aircraft has 28 private suites with lie-flat beds in business class, 24 seats in a premium economy cabin with extra legroom and other amenities, and 264 seats in economy class. There are seats available, the airline said.

Every seat on the A350 is equipped with a Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system and HD screen, offering over 2,200 hours of entertainment content.

Air India began its A350 fleet earlier this year and has since been operating flights within India for crew training and regulatory compliance.
