Donald Trump’s latest attempt to end the gag order against him in the hush money trial was denied by a New York appeals court on Tuesday.

“We are proud of Judge Marchand’s commitment to the First Amendment rights of plaintiffs and the Court’s historic commitment to ensuring the fair administration of justice in criminal cases, and to those involved in criminal proceedings or from intimidation or intimidation.

We conclude that we have appropriately balanced the rights of people directly related to freedom, harassment and harm,” the order states.

President Trump has long argued that the gag order issued by Judge Juan Marchan was unfair to him and would be rescinded because he was unable to respond to public statements made by Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen, among others. I have argued that it should be done.

“You’re asking me a question that I’m not allowed to answer,” President Trump told reporters Tuesday morning before entering criminal court and handing down his sentence. “The gag order must go into effect.

Merchan said the gag order is needed to prevent witnesses from being intimidated, especially given the high-profile nature of the trial and defendant.

Tuesday, the appeals court agreed: “Justice Merchan properly determined that petitioner’s public statements posed a significant threat to the integrity of the testimony of witnesses and potential witnesses in this case as well.”
