BBC presenter Jay Blades is accused of being controlling or coercive towards his wife.
Blades, 54, was charged by West Mercia Police with controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship and appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
According to court documents, the charges relate to his wife, fitness trainer Lisa Zvosen, who announced the end of their relationship on her Instagram page in May. The couple are set to wed on November 22, 2022 in the grounds of their beachfront villa in Barbados.
The presenter, who hosts primetime show The Repair Shop, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on October 11 for a plea bargain and trial preparation hearing. West Mercia Police said in a statement: “Jason Blades, 54, of Claverley, Wolverhampton, has been charged with controlling and coercive behaviour.
He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday 13 September) and has been released on bail to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday 11 October.”
For his contribution to the craft, he is best known for his work in the BBC series The Repair Shop and will appear in the upcoming Channel 5 series Jay Blades: A Country House Through Time.
As well as his regular role in the series The Repair Shop, he has also appeared in a number of documentaries, including the 15-part BBC series David & Jay`s Touring Toolshed with Sir David Jason and the recent Channel 4 series Dame Judi & Jay: The Odd Couple, with Dame Judi Dench.
