A seven-year-old kid has passed on after a blast in a private road in Newcastle.

Six people, according to police, were taken to the hospital following the early-morning explosion and subsequent fire in Violet Close.
Social media footage suggests that the blast nearly leveled two properties in the city’s Elswick neighborhood.
A fire service van marked “search dogs” was parked nearby, and specialist gas engineers have arrived at the scene.
According to Northumbria Police, the fire department called them to the scene around 12:45 this morning.
A little over an hour later, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service stated that several fire engines were on the scene. It advised people to stay away from the area and to keep their doors and windows locked.
