The Telegraph reports that Ms. Manners explained to reporters, following her rescue, how they had lost their equipment, saying: While she was carrying her bag and we were bringing up my bag, the rockfall came, cut the rope with the other bag, and it fell the entire mountain.
We communicated with our friends, and they were aware.
“They had told the rescuers, “Oh they are stuck on the mountain, they have no equipment” because I live in France and that team also comes from France.”
The Indian Air Force issued the following statement: ” The Indian Air Force’s tenacity and ability to rescue two foreign mountaineers from the Chaukhamba III trek in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli, as well as the collaborative efforts of SDRF, NIM, and French mountaineers, are examples of both.
