A British medic and volunteer who saved over 200 soldiers in Ukraine has been killed on the front line.

Peter Fouché was well-known in Ukraine for saving hundreds of lives

The death of Peter Fouché, who had been supporting Ukrainian forces in Donbass since spring 2022, was confirmed today.

The former carpenter and now paramedic, who lives in Fulham, west London, leaves behind a 15-year-old daughter, Nicole.

Project Konstantin, the charitable foundation he co-founded to evacuate wounded soldiers, posted a tribute on social media.

Describing Peter as a “hero” whose actions “will be forever etched in our hearts”, it read: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved director and founder Pete.”

“There are no words that can do justice to Pete’s life. No words or phrases can express how much he meant to all of us.

“Pete’s unwavering commitment, endless compassion and tireless dedication to Ukraine and its people left a lasting impact on the countless lives he touched. His heroism knew no bounds.

“He was actively involved in the rescue of over 200 wounded Ukrainian soldiers, the evacuation of civilians from the most dangerous frontline cities and providing humanitarian assistance to the people of these cities and villages.

“Pete’s courage and selflessness in the face of danger was truly extraordinary and his actions will be forever etched in our hearts.”
