With the aim of increasing youth participation in innovation and pioneering initiatives, Digital Dubai today announced at its stand at the Dubai Government Pavilion at GITEX Global 2024 the creation of a Youth Council, made up of young professionals who will work according to a clear methodology.
The decision was taken by Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, regarding the establishment of the “Digital Dubai Youth Council”.
The council represents different departments within the authority and is chaired by Reem Al Falasi, with Khalifa Juma bin Thales as vice-chairman. The members of the council include Abdel Khaliq Murad Mohamed Ahmed, Maisa Naser Muthanna Naser, Badr Abdullah Khalaf Al Ghaith, Maryam Sufian bin Surloom Al Falasi, and Hamda bin Zayed Al Falasi, General Coordinator for the council’s membership.
Tariq Yousef Al Janahi, CEO of Corporate Enablement Sector at Digital Dubai, stressed that the initiative reflects Digital Dubai’s commitment to empowering young people and strengthening their role in leading the digital transformation process, in line with its mission-driven and wise leadership.
Al Janahi said: “At Digital Dubai, we believe in outstanding and committed young talents and their key role in a promising future. We have chosen GITEX Global 2024 as the right platform to announce the launch of the Digital Dubai Youth Council, which provides an overview of the future shaped by youth. The qualifications of the council members reflect their high ambition and professionalism, inspired by their confidence in our country and wise leadership.
This demonstrates that the council institutionally reflects the government’s direction in supporting youth. The council will not only strengthen the youth’s contribution to innovative projects, but also future-ready and empower leaders to take on upcoming responsibilities in an era characterized by rapid change, innovation, flexibility and forward thinking,” Al Janahi, Dubai’s Minister for Youth Council, expressed his gratitude.
The Youth Council for working with the Federal Youth Department to support and collaborate in the effective establishment and running of the council.
Hassan Sabt, Chairman of Dubai Youth Council, expressed his pride at the launch of the Digital Dubai Youth Council and highlighted the important role of youth in realizing Dubai’s future vision.
He said: “The establishment of the Digital Dubai Youth Council marks an important step in giving young people the opportunity to contribute effectively in shaping the future of Dubai’s digital transformation. At Dubai Youth Council, we believe that youth are the foundation of innovation and sustainability in technology and digitalization. “We will continue to work closely with our colleagues from other youth councils to share knowledge and experiences to drive digital development in a way that meets Dubai’s ambitions and our wise leadership.”
In her speech, Reem Al Falasi, Chairman of Digital Dubai Youth Council, said: “We have learned from our wise leadership that innovation, creative thinking and youth spirit come together to form an equation for intelligent interaction with this era of technology and change.
We are grateful to the Authority’s leadership for this trust and will strive to meet expectations in accordance with God’s will while ensuring effective communication and collaboration with our colleagues in other youth councils in Dubai and the UAE for mutual benefit.” Establishing the council, she outlined its objectives, which include enhancing the role of youth in innovation and promoting ideas and institutional programs in various professional, social and national fields that cater to the ambitions of the youth.
The council will focus on training based on creative thinking and building a dynamic working environment, encouraging the youth to suggest possibilities for improving the services offered by Digital Dubai.
