Dominic Cummings has reacted with fury to Emily Maitlis’ assertion that Britain’s introduction of the Covid vaccine was unrelated to Brexit.

Ms. Maitlis, who used to be a newsreader for the BBC and host of Newsnight and is now a third of the popular daily news podcast “The News Agents,” reposted a claim that the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, had made that Brexit enabled the UK to spread the vaccine more quickly than other European nations.

Johnson said these things while promoting his new book on LBC: We were able to vaccinate more quickly than anyone else, which saved lives. Brexit helped save lives.

Ms. Maitlis dismissed the former prime minister’s justification in response to the remarks made on the podcast that she co-hosts with Jon Sopel and Lewis Goodall.

She stated: The UK was allowed to act independently to approve the vaccine in an emergency under European law, just to be clear.

He wrote an angry post on X, stating, ” Maitlis’ total number of balls.

“The EU scheme was clearly just a typical bureaucratic s***show with a lot of powerpoint crap for months and slow procurement.

“It is in my statement to the Inquiry, but evidently these Remain hacks just pump out propaganda rather than journalism.

On the digital recording, Ms Maitlis’ co-have Lewis Goodall agreed with her excusal of the job of Brexit on the viability of the rollout.

Goodall stated, It’s not like vaccines weren’t distributed in Europe.

“Britain had the vaccine almost exclusively during the pandemic. We could be talking about a difference of a week or two.”

The head of the UK’s medicines regulator says that Ms. Maitlis’s comment about Britain’s ability to handle itself in an emergency is true.

In a 2020 speech, Dr. June Raine, Chief Executive of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), stated that at the time of the vaccine rollout, Britain was still subject to EU regulations during the Brexit transition period.

Raine stated, Using provisions in European law that are in effect until January 1, we were able to authorize the supply of this vaccine.

On multiple occasions, prominent Brexit supporters such as the former MP Jacob Rees-Mogg have refuted this explanation.
