A Dubai billionaire has suggested establishing a fund to support mothers in the UAE considering their critical role in the upbringing of the UAE’s future generation.
Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, founding chairman of Al Habtoor Group, said on Thursday that he would contribute up to Dh100 million to the fund.
“Mother is the most important person in the family and the UAE Government has introduced various programmes to support mothers’ needs. This land is dear to our hearts. We are responsible for supporting UAE mothers. I would like to suggest setting up a fund for the purpose and urge affluent people to support the fund. I can contribute Dh25 million to Dh100 million,” Al Habtoor said during the “Open Talk with Khalaf Al Habtoor” at his company’s head office.
He suggested that mothers should take care of their children from an early age before choosing a career. He stressed the role of parents in raising children, adding that they must protect them from the dangers that modernization brings.
Al-Habtoor is a well-known philanthropist. Earlier this month, he offered “mental and physical treatment to sexually abused children” in Lebanon through a social media app.
Al-Habtoor said he was ready to take over the treatment of these children and provide them with the necessary assistance.
When it rained in the UAE on April 16, Al Habtoor announced financial aid of 17 million dirhams to repair the damage to the homes of UAE nationals. He also offered hotel rooms to provide shelter to families affected by the rain.
He previously supported 100 Afghan students in Dubai after the Taliban government banned them from attending university in their home country.
Dr. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Haddad, Grand Mufti of Dubai Islamic Affairs and Philanthropy Department, in a public lecture: “Great men are nurtured by great women.”
He said, “You shouldn’t leave your children with a babysitter because it can have negative effects.” It is a priority for mothers to give their children their full attention. ”
Colonel Abdulrahman Sharaf Almamali, Director of the Hemayah International Center of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of Dubai Police, called for the protection of society from today’s dangers and diseases. He urged parents to pay attention when their children want to discuss something.
Colonel Almamali revealed that some people in the UAE use the internet for more than seven hours a day, which is excessive and dangerous. “Instead, we should spend time with our children. If we are not careful, we can mislead our children and put them at risk,” he warned.
Dr. Abdulkhalek Abdullah, a political science professor, said young people in the UAE are “not radical in their behavior or religion.”
“When asked to work responsibly, they can do their jobs well at all levels. We believe in our young people and the UAE is safe. I live in the moment. I am confident that the next generation will lead this society to a secure future. I hope that our society will be the best at every level,” he added.
