Jay’s father Warren, 55, previously joined the search for the missing 19-year-old after he was reported missing in the Canary Islands last week. The teenager is believed to have vanished shortly after telling a friend he was going on an 11-hour hike back to his hotel after missing his bus on Monday.

Warren says he has been desperately searching for his son and has put up posters around Santiago in the hope of finding a lead in the case.

In a hoarse voice, he said: ‘I just want him to be found, that’s as simple as that. I just want my son back, that’s all. What else is there, a week has gone by, a week of nothing, so someone, somewhere has found out something. Someone. It’s pure hell, unless you go through it you can’t explain it.

He added: “Please, please, please, if anyone knows anything, just come out and help us.” I don’t know if something unexpected has happened to Jay, one minute he’s here and the next minute he’s gone. I don’t think he’s still in that mountain.

The police have made every effort to find him. The authorities have done their utmost in the search, everyone is looking for him.

“We need everyone to help us search this desert, everyone. That’s Barron. His request comes after Jay’s mother also spoke out, saying she wants.

“her baby back.” Debbie told the BBC: “I didn’t sleep at all, like it wasn’t real. It was his first holiday abroad with friends and I tried to persuade him to go. I said, ‘You’re going to have a great time.'” “Jay doesn’t really drink but he was drinking shortstops and hard liquor that night.”
