The world-famous cult musician performed a free concert in Connecticut, US, before his tragic death.

A video circulating on social media shows the late rapper shirtless singing some of his biggest hits just hours before his death. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Fatman Scoop (real name Isaac Freeman III) was headlining the Green & Gold Party in Hamden, Connecticut, when he suffered a “medical emergency.” The musician, known for his number one hit “Be Faithful,” reportedly collapsed and lost consciousness as onlookers rushed to administer CPR.

In one clip, people can be seen rushing to help the fallen star as the music stops and a commotion can be heard behind the DJ booth. Medical professionals were called to the venue at around 8.33pm as an emergency occurred and he was subsequently taken to hospital.

Scoop’s booking agent said: “Scoop was a beloved figure in the music world whose work was cherished by countless fans around the world. His iconic voice, infectious energy and incredible personality left an indelible mark on the industry and his legacy will live on in his timeless music.

“Fatman Scoop was a cherished part of the MN2S family for 15 years and his loss is felt deeply by all of us,” Scoop’s agent Sharon Elkabas said in a statement. “Good thing.

We can’t believe he’s no longer with us,” the booking agency MN2S added, “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans during this incredibly difficult time. Scoop’s vibrant spirit, boundless enthusiasm and passion for music will always remain in our hearts.

Following his emergency, Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett acknowledged the incident on Facebook, adding, “Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.” Since the news broke, fans have flocked to social media to share their grief. One person wrote, “Rest in peace Fatman Scoop, he just reposted a video I shared the other day of him banging in the street listening to his own music 20 years later. We’ve grown up with this voice! Thank you for the sound.” Rest in paradise.”

A second added: “Losing Fatman Scoop means losing a huge part of culture. An essential part of the music and his voice will literally live on forever. Rest in peace.” And a third added: “Fatman Scoop’s final moments in the body involved doing what he loved. His final words before being rushed to hospital were apparently “If you come to party, party.” Rest in peace legend Fatman Scoop.”

A fourth added: “So sad about the Fatman Scoop news. I was just thinking the other day that maybe music isn’t resonating as well as it used to because a famous hype man like him isn’t on all the big tracks anymore. I pray for his loved ones and hope it’s some comfort that he passed away doing what he loved.”

Throughout his career, Fatman Scoop has worked with the likes of Missy Elliott, Timberland, Nick Cannon, Skrillex and Mariah Carey. But outside of music he also had a successful career in TV. In 2004 he appeared on Channel 4’s series Chances, which profiled six British singers trying to break into the American music industry.

However, he gained a new fanbase when he moved into the Celebrity Big Brother house during the UK vs. USA series on 27 August 2015. But unfortunately, his stay was cut short as he became the third celebrity to be evicted, ultimately finishing in 11th place.

It’s heartbreaking that Fatman Scoop promoted his latest song “Let It Go” with Peixo Blanco on social media just hours before his death. Fatman previously spoke about the record on Instagram: “Sometimes you just know when someone’s got ‘it’ and I think that was the case with him. On top of that, he’s had a lot of great relationships,” he added. For himself. Watch out for that guy. I see some really good things going on with this young homie. He’s got the looks, the songs, but more importantly, he works hard. You can’t train that!”
