In a video released on Monday, May 27, fugitive Janata Dal (secular) lawmaker Prajwal Revanna appears on May 31 to investigate a mass sexual abuse case in which he was involved. He said he would appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up in 2017. Officials “will fully cooperate with the investigation”

“When the elections were held on April 26th, there was no case against me and no SIT was established. My overseas trip was not planned in advance. During my trip, I learned about the allegations. Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders started talking about it and a political conspiracy was hatched against me,”

Mr. Prajwal said in a video message to his grandfather and former prime minister H.D. Gandhi. I apologized. Mr. Devegowda’s uncle, former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, and his father, JD(S) MLA H.D. Revanna.

He further added, “Some factions in Hassan were hatching political plots against me and I had to distance myself.” There’s no reason to be wrong. I plan to return on the 31st at 10am to meet with the SIT and fully cooperate with the investigation. I believe in laws and institutions. I am coming out stronger from all these false allegations against me. ”

Further, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan constituency hinted that he had fallen into “depression and isolation” after the remarks of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders. Revealed about his sexual abuse video.
A special court issued an arrest warrant against Prajwal on May 18. So far, three FIRs have been lodged against him for alleged sexual abuse.

Last month, several videos were released showing several instances of seemingly violent and non-consensual sexual acts by JD(S) leaders.

Most of the videos appear to have been filmed without the women’s consent under what appears to be some form of coercion. On April 27, an SIT was set up by the Siddaramaiah-led government to investigate these incidents. He reportedly flew to Germany the same day.

On May 22, Siddaramaiah wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to cancel Prajwal’s diplomatic passport. The Indian Express reported that the Karnataka chief minister had already written to Mr. Modi on May 1, asking him to direct the home and external affairs ministries to cancel Hassan’s diplomatic passport.
