Nearly a decade after announcing their permanent retirement, Motley Crue are officially returning to the stage.
The legendary rock group, which currently consists of Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, and John 5, first came together in 1981 and had hits like Dr. Feelgood, Without You, and Girls, Girls, Girls.
The group released Dogs of War, their first single in five years, earlier this year. Now, they have announced a brand-new residency in Las Vegas, with a limited run of dates in 2025.
They posted a message on their official Instagram page announcing the upcoming performances, prompting outrage among fans.
The medievalwolfgrrl’s response was, Greetings, guys! This is fantastic, and I will most certainly be there!
Official Harley-Rxx concurred: Yes, please! Las Vegas LFG [sic]

Tickets for the group’s performances at Dolby Live at Park MGM, which take place from March 28 to April 19, go on sale tomorrow.
They famously signed a Cessation of Touring agreement in 2014, which took effect at the end of the following year, so the news may come as a surprise.
In the document, they said that they were sick of touring and would never do so again. However, in 2019, they changed their minds and blew up the paperwork.
In the wake of their biopic’s enormous success, the band issued a statement via Sky News that read, “Almost six years after signing a cessation of touring agreement, the contract is off the table because a whole new generation of Crueheads are relentlessly demanding for the band to come back together.”
‘Motley Crue has seen a massive increase in new audiences due to their biopic The Dirt, which was a huge hit on Netflix.
“And in typical Motley Crue fashion, the band best known for making rules has destroyed their cessation of touring contract by literally blowing it up.”
After this, they went back on the road with Def Leppard for the massive Stadium Tour, which started in 2022.
Nikki, who founded Motley Crue with Vince, Tommy, and Mick Mars in 1981, told People Magazine about the decision before their residency: Evidently, we were wrong to retire.’
Additionally, he gave a hint as to what to anticipate from their upcoming Vegas dates, saying, We want to simply reevaluate our songs and incorporate songs that people have been asking us to play for a long time, possibly B-tracks and other tracks, as well as reevaluate the concept of an intimate evening with the band.
We’re in the early stages of our creative process, but we just don’t want to do the same thing again. We want to make Vegas feel special.’
Despite his assertion that they are “still all about being Motley,” Nikki acknowledged that their wilder times are largely over.
‘Those days have passed.’ I believe that the life we lived and the experiences we had cannot be replicated by subsequent generations. We were there at a time, which, by the way, wasn’t what most people think it was.
“It’s about moving forward for us.” We don’t really want to be living in the past because Motley Crüe still has hit singles, tours, and stadium shows 43 years later. We are also our future, and you are a part of your past.’
