UK fans of Love is Blind suffered a devastating setback just before the highly anticipated reunion episode when a technical glitch prevented them from watching the show live on Netflix at 9pm.
The special, hosted by husband-wife team Matt and Emma Willis, was officially scheduled to stream immediately at 9pm, but a technical glitch prevented the stream from loading for several minutes, leaving many fans furious at the unexpected setback.
The dramatic reunion episode saw all the competing couples, who met and married unseen last September, reunite to recount their romantic journeys on the show, but one crucial revelation was made: one couple had already broken up! Having missed all the crucial details, many angry fans took to social media to criticize Netflix over the issue, with many wondering why they were unable to watch their favourite show.
“Ugh why isn’t it working!!!” one fan complained, while another lamented, “Love is Blind not working on Netflix it’s 9:03pm it should start at 9pm!” Wondering if it was an isolated incident or if more viewers were affected, another fan asked the internet’s obsessive minds: “Is it just us?”
a fourth fan added, before adding, “It still says it’s unavailable so is the reunion online?” A pivotal episode in which it was soon revealed that CrossFit gym owner Stephen, 37, and his bride Sabrina, 35, were a couple who had decided to put an end to their relationship after less than a year.
At the start of the experiment, the couple actually meshed very well together, showing obvious chemistry even before they laid eyes on each other for the first time. The pair were so in love that they eventually decided to officially say “I do” and even get legally bound.
But it was this elaborate ceremony that marked the beginning of the end for the couple, because despite “falling in love”, the pair soon discovered unexpected, previously unspoken facts about each other.
A TV insider gave MailOnline an insight into the breakup: “Sabrina and Steven got engaged on their wedding day last year because they loved each other and wanted it to work. But after filming for the show finished, they learned things about each other that they hadn’t discussed while dating in the pod.
“There were hurdles they had to overcome, including differences of opinion about starting a family and staying together long term.
They remain friends and they will forever be connected after going through a life changing experience together, but their relationship is over for good.” Commenting on the situation, she said: “I just don’t feel like you respect me” and this was thought to be the main reason for their decision to go their separate ways.
Despite the breakup, the two reportedly remain friends.
