After a massive fire broke out at a commercial building this morning, smoke plumes were observed, prompting an evacuation order.

According to reports, the fire broke out in a commercial building on Longden Road in Gorton, Manchester, near the border with Levenshulme. Fire and ambulance personnel are stationed on Matthews Lane as part of a significant emergency cordon in the region.

Enormous quantities of crisis reaction vehicles are on the scene, including a few squad cars. The enormous fire can be seen in photos and videos shared on social media, and smoke can also be seen in the Oldham area from further afield.

Locals commented on the fire’s enormity on social media, with one person claiming they could see the smoke in Didsbury from more than five kilometers away. A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson stated: A large amount of smoke is being produced by a fire that is involving a commercial unit on Longden Road, Gorton, and firefighters are on the scene. Residents in the area are urged to stay away from the area and keep their doors and windows locked. The roads have been closed.”
