McFly drummer Harry Judd’s wife Izzy has issued a warning to parents after their three-year-old son Lockie was rushed to hospital after getting cleaning chemicals in his eye
The three-year-old son of pop star Harry Judd was taken to the hospital after getting cleaning chemicals in his eye.
Following their youngest son’s “burst open” of a laundry pod and ended up “very badly” injured, the McFly drummer’s spouse Izzy, with whom he has Lola, seven, Kit, five, and three-year-old Lockie, has issued a warning to parents to always keep cleaning products out of their children’s reach.
Izzy posted this to Instagram: It’s been a difficult few days; I’m sharing this because I don’t want another family to go through what we did, and even though we’ve all been warned about the dangers of cleaning products at home, reminders are always important [prayer emoji].
As a result, Lockie was able to obtain a washing pod, burst it open, and he severely inhaled Lockie’s eyes. I also forgot to put the washing pods away in that split-second that I wasn’t there [emoji of broken heart].
“We rushed to the hospital… Lockie’s Ph levels in his eyes were 8 and needed to be Before getting the pH down, it took all night to flush Lockie’s eyes with 22 liters of fluid. The 40-year-old musician acknowledged that it was “pretty horrendous” to watch the little boy receive treatment and that he is still being “closely monitored” after damaging his right eye.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to the @nhsengland A+E nurses who showed unbelievable dedication and kindness, not only to Lockie but also to me.”
She penned: “We are now being closely monitored as his right eye is injured from the chemicals, but we are in the best hands though, and I’m so grateful to the specialists,” she said. “As you can imagine, it was pretty horrendous having to watch and put Lockie through that. He doesn’t like getting his hair washed, let alone having to lie there for 10 minutes for each litre of fluid.”
Izzy ended her post by pleading once more for chemical products to be kept “completely out of reach” of children. “Little Lockie is such a determined and brave little boy.” She continued, The mother-of-three was inundated with comments after sharing her post on Wednesday, with one fan reminding Izzy: “Please, please put cleaning products high up and completely out of reach.
This has been my scariest moment as a mother, and I’m so sorry for others who have experienced these kind of awful accidents too heart hand emoji.” Accidents occur. Kindly treat yourself, xx.” Under Izzy’s warning, Dr. Zoe Williams wrote: ” I’m sorry you both went through this, Izzy.
Sending you love and gratitude for sharing; it was a very useful reminder for all of us! Xxx.” An additional Instagram user wrote: terrifying for both you and Lockie the infant. I want to send you a lot of love and appreciate you sharing this. A great way to remind everyone.”
