The Duchess of Sussex attended a reception for military families in Abuja where she was pictured wearing a new diamond cross necklace.
According to Page Six, the necklace was a thoughtful gift from Prince Harry to his beloved wife from his mother’s personal collection.
A source with knowledge of the couple told the publication: “Princess Diana continues to be an important influence in Prince Harry’s life and, by extension, Meghan’s life.” It’s clear how much she still means to him.
“A gift for a wife that once belonged to her mother is very meaningful and will never be lost on her. However, the deceased princess apparently wore it in public.” Some people questioned the origin of the necklace because it was not worn.
A source close to Princess Diana said, “No, we were not aware of it at all.”
In fact, Princess Diana was always a professional woman and would not normally wear religious motifs because they could be hurtful.”Meghan did not wear jewelry I like to choose things and tell specific stories. I can’t believe she’s been wearing this necklace for five years.”
The late Princess of Wales wears a cross in public. It was only photographed wearing it twice, at a charity gala in London in 1987 and in Brazil in 1991.
The 1987 necklace was auctioned off to TV star Kim Kardashian for £160,000 last year, while the 1991 necklace was donated to a charity auction and later sold to an Australian collector for an undisclosed sum.
