Meghan Markle was filmed seemingly refusing to let a woman stand next to Prince Harry for a picture to celebrate his polo team’s recent win.
In footage circulating on social media, the Duchess of Sussex, 42, scoots closer to her husband’s side on stage at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, Fla., Friday, as another woman attempted to get beside the duke. They were posing for a photo-op following the Royal Salute Polo Challenge.
Markle stood motionless, an unidentified woman in a cream-colored dress resembling a “Suits” alumnus.
Ms Markle then smiled and motioned for the woman to stand on her left instead, before someone in the video again said: “Would you like to come here?” the Duchess could be heard asking. “I suggested.”
Frau ducked under the trophy and sat next to the Duchess.
One person said of Ms. Markle in the video of the incident: That’s why she keeps clinging to him, and why every woman who stands next to him is told to stand next to her.”
Another said: Meghan Markle dominant personality is the world’s “This is glaringly evident,” he added. And generosity. She contributed to Harry’s team’s victory. It’s a disgrace.”
Last year, sources denied that Markle and Prince Harry, who married in 2018, were having trouble in paradise amid rumors about their marriage. But naysayers later said they would only last a few more years.
But the awkward situation came just after Markle kissed Harry, 39, while presenting the trophy and posing for a photo with the team.
The couple arrived at the charity event hand in hand and looked in good spirits throughout the day.
Harry’s polo match in aid of Sentebale charity comes after an exciting few weeks for the couple.
Page Six confirmed Thursday that Markle and Harry’s Archewell Productions are working on two new series for Netflix, which signed a lucrative deal in 2020.
Markle will appear on the lifestyle show, which celebrates “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship.” But the second series promises to chronicle the world of polo.
Markle also announced in March the launch of the American Riviera Orchard brand, which will offer food products such as jams and nut butters, kitchen linens, drinkware, cutlery and cookbooks. In the future, they plan to sell makeup, skin care, and hair care items as well.
Not much is known about this lifestyle brand at this time, but fans can join the waiting list online.
