Olly Murs broke down as he revealed he had just one hour with his newborn baby before he had to leave to perform a gig.

The Troublemaker hitmaker and wife Amelia Tank welcomed their first child together, daughter Madison, in April, and Olly discussed juggling fatherhood and his busy career during an interview on Giovanna Fletcher`s podcast Happy Mum Happy Baby.

Olly and Amelia opened up on their first few months of being parents, and the 40-year-old confessed he struggled as he had to leave his wife and daughter just minutes after he became a father.

Olly was supporting Take That on their UK tour, and had to jet off to perform another gig, even though Amelia had just given birth. “Yeah, that was hard.

That was weird,” he said. “I knew that Milas mum was there, which always gave me comfort. I knew Amelia was on her own. I think again, I just went,I’m going to work. And if I overthink this, I’m going to cry my eyes out all the way up to the gig. So, I was kind of like,I’m really sorry, babe, but I’ve got to go`.”

Getting emotional, Olly had to briefly pause as he described having to leave his daughter, and admitted he felt guilty for not bonding with Madison. “There was definitely that… I haven’t really had a chance to bond with Maddie yet, and I don’t really know who she is.

So, there was a really big… like I’m gonna get emotional about it. I don’t want to get emotional. But yeah, it just felt a bit like…” Olly said, as he choked back tears. “It was hard to get that connection. Yeah. That relationship. And obviously Amelia obviously was amazing, and I had to leave.”

Olly confessed he felt “awful” leaving Amelia in hospital, but he had to remind himself he had to “go provide” for his family. However, the singer said he struggled to find his role after Madisons arrival, and was left changing nappies. “For me it was like, well, what’s my job here? I don’t know yet. As a guy, I didn’t know my role yet. I was just there to just, want me to do clean the nappy?`” Olly laughed.

Back in April, just days after his daughters arrival, Olly told the crowd at Londons O2 Arena that he was struggling with guilt. “It’s been the most craziest time. Cos obviously on one hand I’ve got this beautiful baby girl, my wife is at home looking after her with the nappies, and the sleepless nights and I’m on tour with Take That. I feel guilty!” he said at the time.
