Amie Gray, 34, was declared dead at the scene after police were called to Durley Chine Beach at around 11.45pm on May 24.
A second woman, aged 38, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
Prime suspect Nasen Saadi, 20, from Croydon in south London, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
He was wearing a grey jumper and only confirmed his name and address during the brief hearing.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Winchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday 4 June.

Mr Gray’s wife Sian was in court to attend the hearing.
Paying tribute earlier this week she said: “Amy was a very loving wife and mother.”
`Her giggle and big smile will be hard to miss. An outstanding personality. I will miss you forever, my love. To the moon and back, forever and ever.
`Thank you for all the love and support you have shown us and for respecting our privacy. This is a difficult time for everyone.”
Chairman of the Peace Commission Judge Paul Kemp told Saadi: “You will be taken to Winchester Crown Court to be charged with murder and attempted murder.
“You will appear in court on June 4th to attend argument and a pretrial hearing.”
“Due to the nature of the offences you are accused of there is no prospect of bail and you will remain in custody until then.”

Saadi’s lawyer Ogugua Ebuzoeme told the court: “It is well to remind everyone that my client is innocent until proven guilty.”
Detective Superintendent Richard Dixie, from the Serious Crime Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of Amy Gray and the woman who was seriously injured. We would like to keep you updated on the latest developments in our investigation.
“This case is the subject of an extensive investigation and we are currently in consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, who have admitted charges of murder and attempted murder.
“This means that the case will now be the subject of active court proceedings, and it is vital that the justice system is given the opportunity to set its course.”
“It is also important to stress that you should refrain from further sharing any comments or information online or on social media which may prejudice these court proceedings.”
There will also be increased police patrols in Bournemouth over the weekend.
