Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s wedding day in 2018 was a joyous occasion for the couple – but it also appears to have been the last time Harry and his brother Prince William were happy in each other’s company

Prince Harry and his brother Prince William haven’t truly been content in each other’s presence since a pivotal moment six years ago.

The Royal wedding of Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018 was a day brimming with happiness for the newlyweds and William was Harry’s best man. Yet, it seems that this occasion marked the last time Harry and William genuinely enjoyed each other’s company, as royal author Robert Hardman shares a poignant reflection on their relationship. Mr Hardman claims their brotherly unity at the wedding carries a sombre significance today, as he noted the significance of their bond during the nuptials.

He said: “With the benefit of hindsight, we’re left feeling it was one of the last times they were happy in each other’s company. You can’t help looking back and thinking what might have been, but at the time it all felt very relaxed and friendly.”

The memorable wedding ceremony of Harry and Meghan was held at St George’s Chapel under a clear blue sky on the sunny Saturday of 19 May. The arrival of guests started at 9.30am, with celebrities such as Idris Elba, James Blunt, Oprah Winfrey, James Corden, Carey Mulligan, Tom Hardy, Sir Elton John, Serena Williams, the Beckhams, the Clooneys, and Meghan’s colleagues from Suits finding their places within the chapel.

The grand event saw a record attendance of 600, according to OK!, featuring numerous global politicians and dignitaries. The list of royals included Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the then Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence.

Other figures present were the Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara and Mike Tindall, Earl and Countess of Wessex Edward and Sophie, with their children, along with Peter and Autumn Phillips. Persons from the Middleton and Parker Bowles families added to the line-up too.

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was a very important guest at the wedding. However, two days before the gala, it was announced that Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, would be canceling the ceremony due to health reasons.

Prince Charles finally accompanied Meghan all the way to the altar on her behalf. Prince Harry sported a beard for the occasion, courtesy of Queen Elizabeth.

He arrived at the chapel shortly after 11:30 a.m. with his attendant William, wearing the crisp frock-coat uniform of the Blues and Royals. – When Meghan entered the chapel, her entourage consisted of six bridesmaids and four pageboys, including descendants of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as her closest friends.

When Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan said their vows and exchanged rings, heartfelt cheers filled the chapel and laughter erupted from the couple and the crowd. After they were declared husband and wife and registered their marriage, they delighted fans by kissing on the steps of the chapel.
