Prince Harry and Meghan Markle travelled to Nigeria last month, and their three-day tour attracted much attention.
The motives for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Nigeria have been questioned by royal expert Rupert Bell, as he claimed the focus seemed to have shifted away from the Invictus Games.
The tour last month saw the couple visit military hospitals and attend sporting events in connection with the Invictus Games, with Nigeria participating in the tournament for the first time last year.
During the competition in Germany, the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to visit the country.
However, after learning that Meghan is 43 per cent Nigerian, Mr Bell told TalkTV that much of the attention since the visit had been on her.
He explained: ‘I’m sure if there was a visit the idea was about Invictus but the aftermath seems to be all about Meghan.’ Harry’s role in trying to win the support of Invictus appeared to be hanging in the balance. In the background.”
