The royal couple were among those who paid tribute to all the British athletes who took part in the Olympics over the past 19 days.

“Well done Team GB, what an incredible journey!” the Prince and Princess of Wales said on their joint account. You all make us so proud!

“Let’s celebrate all our victories in Paris 2024 and look forward to more great things for Paralympics GB later in the summer.”

The video begins with a quote from legendary US rapper Snoop Dogg: “My love,” before Kate says, “Congratulations to Team GB from all of us watching at home.”

Then William added: “Congratulations on all you’ve achieved, you’ve been an inspiration to us all.”

The clip, which is full of congratulatory messages from stars, then cuts to former footballer David Beckham.

“Hey Team GB,” Beckham said, “we’re so proud of you – congratulations!”

Other big name celebs who appeared in the montage included former Olympic swimming champion Rebecca Adlington, BBC presenter Gabby Logan and six-time gold medal cyclist Sir Chris Hoy.

Other former Team GB stars Dame Kelly Holmes, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Colin Jackson were also in attendance.

Meanwhile US track and field hero Michael Johnson went so far as to say: “Well done Team GB, what a win.” Not as good as the US, but well done.’

Snoop Dogg ended the video by saying, ‘Thank you, Britain… on behalf of the great Snoop Dogg and the Prince and his lovely wife.’

This comes as Kate continues to fight cancer since being diagnosed four months ago.

Their efforts earned them seventh place in the overall rankings, which is calculated based on the most gold medals won.

However, only the United States and China actually outdid Britain.
