The Princess of Wales said her focus is to “remain cancer-free” after completing her chemotherapy treatments.

She made the announcement in her most personal family video to date, showing her spending private time with Prince William and their children.

The incredibly candid and intimate video shows the Princess, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis spending time together in Norfolk, and includes a message from the Duchess of Cambridge.

In the video, Kate says: “The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for our family. As we all know, life can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate storms and unknown paths.

In March, the princess confirmed that she had precancerous lesions after abdominal surgery and will undergo preventive chemotherapy

She spoke about the impact this period has had on her and her family: “Above all, this period has forced William and me to reflect on the simple but important things in life and reminded us to be grateful for those things that so many of us have helped us to do.

We often take for granted. It is easy to love and to be loved.

“Right now, I am focused on doing all I can to stay cancer-free.”

The video, filmed in Norfolk last month, shows the family spending time together playing cards and having picnics in the woods and on the beach.

Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, have also been photographed hanging out with the family.

Perhaps most strikingly, the video also shows some incredibly tender moments, with Kate and William embracing each other and William kissing Kate on the cheek.

The Princess also used the video to hint at plans to return to royal duties, stressing that the Duchess and the Palace’s priority now is “the path to healing” and that “a full recovery will take time”.

However, we have heard that she is working from home and plans to attend a few more public appointments over the next few months, if possible.

She also thanked the public for their support and recognised those who have also been affected by cancer.

The Princess said: To everyone on their own cancer journey – I continue to hold your hand and stand by you.

“Out of darkness can come light. Let this light shine brightly.
