The Duchess of Cambridge revealed she has finished chemotherapy in a major announcement on Monday, fuelling speculation as to when she will resume royal duties.

As she recovers, Princess Kate revealed she has finished preventive chemotherapy after an “incredibly tough” nine months for the royal family.

Royal fans rejoiced to hear that the Duchess of Cambridge’s treatment was complete. In a video released by the Palace on Monday afternoon, the 42-year-old spoke of his “renewed sense of hope and gratitude for life”.

The video showed tender footage of the family enjoying the summer at Anmer Hall in Norfolk. Now the family is looking to the future, but many are wondering when they will be able to see each other again for duties and engagements.

Kate’s only official public appearance was at Wimbledon, when she accompanied Princess Charlotte to watch from the royal box and received a standing ovation from the crowd.

She also attended the Trooping the Colour event in June, despite having to give up her position as Colonel of the Irish Guards.

It is clear that the Duchess will not be attending Prince William’s major climate change project, the Earthshot Prize, which will be presented in Cape Town in November.

However, the princess is expected to attend the Cenotaph on Sunday November 18th, and is reportedly planning her annual Christmas concert at Christmas.

Kate said in a statement: “Although my chemotherapy has ended, there is a long road to healing and full recovery and I must continue to take each day as I go.

“However, I look forward to returning to work and, hopefully, attending some further public engagements in the coming months. Despite everything that has happened, I begin this new phase of recovery with renewed hope and gratitude for life,” the Princess added.

“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and drawn from.” The Princess added, “We have received so much strength from those who have helped us during this time.

We have been truly touched by your kindness, empathy and compassion. To all those who continue to fight cancer: I join hands and stand with you. Out of darkness comes light, let this light shine brightly.”
