Rishi Sunak has admitted the Tories may not win the general election after grim defeats in the local polls.

The prime minister suggested the UK was on course for a hung parliament and claimed voters would not want to see Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer “propped up in Downing Street” by the SNP or smaller parties

In an interview with The Times, Mr Sunak referred to UAE Breaking News analysis of local election results by election expert Professor Michael Thrasher, which suggested Labor would be the largest party in parliament without a majority.

“These results suggest we are heading towards a parliament with Labor as the largest party,” Mr Sunak told the paper.

“If Keir Starmer had the support of the SNP, Liberal Democrats and Greens in Downing Street, it would be a disaster for Britain.

“This country doesn’t need any more political gamesmanship.” We need action. We are the only party with a plan to deliver on the people’s priorities.”
Meanwhile, Conservative rebels are warning the Prime Minister about his policy. That will change after the weekend’s local elections.

Mr Sunak urged the party to move to the right Her

Former Home Secretary Suela Braverman urged the party to move to the right to win back voters.

But Mr Braverman told the BBC that a change in leadership was not a “realistic prospect”, adding: “There is no superman or superwoman in this world who could do that.” Win back voters by including further tax cuts and caps on legal immigration.

Conservatives ‘ready for battle’, minister insists

But Transport Secretary Mark Harper says despite a poor local election result, Mr Sunak and the Conservatives are ‘ready for battle’ in the general election. We are ready for battle.”

‘ Trevor Phillips on Sunday morning, the minister said: “The most important thing people need to do now is get behind the Prime Minister and do what the Government has been focused on – the UK. I think it’s important to focus on the people,” he said. “Prioritize the economy and immigration and take the fight to the country ahead of the general election.

Labor will vote in the UK’s 107th parliament, which was held on May 2nd.

The Liberal Democrats won 552 seats, almost 100 seats, while the Conservatives came in third with 515 seats, nearly 400 fewer.
