The storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall totaling 10 to 15 inches, causing further flooding in South Florida.

Broward, Collier, Lee, Miami-Dade and Sarasota counties are all affected by the Governor’s emergency order as rainfall and flooding “continue to impede the operation of critical infrastructure, including major highways, state and county roads, airports, schools” and other critical infrastructure.

Flooding can be life-threatening, so officials are urging residents to stay home unless they need to travel. “Many areas are flooded and vehicles are stranded, and more rain is expected to fall,” the National Weather Service warned.
