Vanessa Feltz has revealed her daughter was taken to hospital after suffering a fall and being left surrounded by her own blood while making her way home from work

The This Morning presenter recounted her horror after her daughter was rushed to hospital.

Vanessa Feltz, 62, recalled how her daughter Allegra, 36, needed medical attention after falling on her way home from work last week. “She went flying over a bumpy pavement,” Vanessa told presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shepherd. “We think she was flying through the air and then hit her face when she fell on another overhanging, jagged, uneven pavement.”

The presenters were visibly shocked when Vanessa revealed her daughter was “seriously injured and lying on the floor” in a pool of blood spreading in Hendon, north-west London. “No one knew which parts of her were bleeding,” she continued, adding that Allegra was unable to move and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

Describing the ordeal on This Morning, Vanessa told viewers that Allegra is thought to have broken her elbow in two places and is currently undergoing an MRI. She also suffered a cut under her chin that required stitches, as well as a black eye and cuts across her face and body. Vanessa added that her hand and shoulder may also be broken.

Allegra did not return from hospital until just after midnight that night, leading an emotional Vanessa to describe her as a “broken bird”. Earlier on LBC, the celebrity told how the response had been overwhelming, with people across the country sharing their own stories of falling over uneven pavements.

When asked about feedback from the city council in an interview with presenter Ben Shepherd, she admitted that there had been none. “We hadn’t heard anything yet because we were so excited and so busy with hospitals and doctors and appointments.” Her biggest concern was for her daughter, who was “severely injured.” Vanessa admitted she doesn’t know the full extent of her injuries, “I don’t even know how many fractures I have.”

She emphasized her concerns, saying, “It’s an obstacle course. I just want to be reassured that it’s OK to walk on the sidewalk, you know?”

Vanessa is the mother of two girls, Allegra and Saskia Clair, with her ex-husband Michael Clair.
