The event showcased investment opportunities and highlighted the UAE’s competitive and business-friendly environment by bringing together senior officials, investors, and entrepreneurs from various economic and business sectors in both countries.

The focus of the forum was on the incentives provided by the UAE’s business ecosystem, which encourages Norwegian and other international businesses to use Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a strategic hub to expand into Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. This is in line with the expanding global economic landscape, which is increasingly driven by knowledge and innovation in all important sectors.

The forum also emphasized the need to improve economic, trade, and investment ties between the UAE and Norway in areas of national priority. Participants emphasized the UAE’s competitive advantages, such as its strategic location, which connects global markets, advanced infrastructure, capacity to attract top global talent, and adaptable legislative framework, which encourages investment and provides important incentives for investors.

The UAE’s Minister of Investment, Mohammed Hassan Alsuwaidi, highlighted that the UAE’s economic vision aligns with Norway’s focus on sustainable growth, revenue diversification, and fostering an innovation-driven economy in his welcome address. He also emphasized the significance of transitioning toward sustainable, knowledge-based economic models.

Espen Barth Eide, the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Tomas Norvoll, the State Secretary for the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Fisheries, were two additional high-ranking officials from Norway who gave speeches.

There were also panel discussions at the UAE-Norway Investment Forum with senior officials and representatives from major UAE companies like ADNOC, Masdar, and AD Ports Group, as well as leading Norwegian companies like Equinor, Yara, and Aker ASA.
