UAE President receives phone call from Prime Minister of Netherlands

President Sheikh Mohamed received a phone call on Monday, June 10, from the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte.

During the call, the two leaders discussed urgent efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire in response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territory, the need to increase the flow of humanitarian assistance and the importance of protecting civilians.

Both leaders also stressed the need to have a clear path to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on a two-State solution.

This is necessary to ensure regional security and stability not only in the Gaza Strip but also in the Middle East and around the world.

The call also highlighted the need for the international community to take decisive action to find a political solution that will prevent further escalation of the conflict.

Furthermore, both sides stressed the importance of promoting global peace, stability and prosperity, while supporting joint international efforts to address common challenges, which will ultimately contribute to improving the quality of life of all people around the world.

The phone conversation between the two leaders also revealed that the UAE and the Netherlands enjoy strong bilateral relations. Both sides are committed to strengthening cooperation in a way that benefits both countries and is consistent with their shared vision of sustainable development and prosperity.

The UAE intends to strengthen bilateral ties with other countries. On May 29, Sheikh Mohamed traveled to China for a two-day state visit at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.

Prior to his visit to China, the President of the UAE was on a two-day state visit to Korea, where he discussed the development of a special strategic partnership between the UAE and Korea with Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol.
