Final respects have been paid to a couple who died in a car crash near the pier.
Police previously confirmed that two pedestrians were among three people killed when a grey Audi A8 collided with a pedestrian in the town of Beaumaris, Anglesey, North Wales, on Wednesday.
The driver of the car, a local man (81), also died at the scene.
The Diocese of Coventry named the pedestrians as the Reverend Stephen Birch, 65, from Alcester, Warwickshire, and his wife Cathy.
In a statement, the diocese said the news came as a “shock” as Reverend Birch had only retired at the end of last year.
He served the parish in various capacities for 35 years, most recently as parish priest of St James Church, Fletchamsted, for 19 years.
He was described as a “popular member” of the parish and known for his “good humour and unwavering faith”.
Ms Birch was known by many for her work with CPAS (Church Pastoral Aid Society) and in worship, the diocese added.
During their retirement years the couple “remained very active” within the parish.
A spokesman for the diocese said it had offered condolences to the Birch family and asked that their privacy be respected as they dealt with their “devastating and unexpected loss”.
North Wales Police had previously confirmed that the two pedestrians were in their 60s and not from the area.
Officers responded to the accident in Beaumaris just after 2.45pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Public and emergency services rushed to help at the scene of the accident in Alma Street, near Beaumaris Pier, where three people died.
Officers have asked the public not to speculate as they attempt to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
The area around the main road was closed to traffic for a while following the accident and the public were asked to avoid the area.
The town of Beaumaris, with a population of around 1,100, is on the east coast of Anglesey, off the coast of North Wales.
The Reverend Leslie Rendall, vicar of St Mary and St Nicholas Church in Beaumaris, UAE Breaking News it would take “some time” for the parish to process what had happened.
North Wales Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
