Jack McManus has spoken out for the first time since his split from unfortunate Martin McCutcheon.
The EastEnders legend confirmed on Instagram that Jack had decided to end his 18-year marriage and released the heartbreaking statement. Martin said she “accepts” Jack’s decision to separate but that they would continue to co-parent their son Rafferty.
She added that she wanted to send “all the love, happiness and joy” to Jack as he begins his new single life. But Jack has now spoken out. The former couple’s neighbours also expressed regret over Martine’s sensationalist comments and stressed that they seem like the perfect family.
“I have nothing more to add, I’m not going to say anything more about it,” Jacques told MailOnline. Meanwhile, his relatives were completely unaware of the sour situation between the pair. An anonymous resident told the publication: I often saw her out and about with our son. Martine was always very friendly. “It is truly a pity.”
The actress made the shocking announcement on her social media pages, revealing that the separation was her husband’s idea. After consideration, Jack has decided that it is best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision
“We are both very happy and grateful for our beautiful 9-year-old son Rafferty. His happiness and well-being has always been and will continue to be our number one priority.” Of course, we both still cherish our wonderful son and look forward to raising him for the rest of our lives together.
This decision has evolved over time, but as a family we are still searching and exploring new paths forward. At this time we respectfully ask for privacy… especially for our little son.

“Rafferty and I will be here for you (as we always do)! Thank you all for your love and support now and always…Martine.xx.” The Love Actually star and Jack began dating in the early 2000s after meeting at a music venue in Piccadilly, and officially married in 2012.
Martine and Jack married on Lake Como in Italy, after he proposed while down on one knee in the snow on a London embankment. She said the area was one of her favourite places “in the world”, and revealed that “there wasn’t another soul around” when he proposed.
Last month, Martine published a cryptic post about “letting go” and “giving space.” She posted the following message on social media: “Love her from afar. Let her figure out what she feels, what she wants in life, where she wants to go, who she wants to be. Focus on yourself and your goals while you give her space.” And remember, you are under no obligation to be there and wait when you’re ready.”
All seemed well for the couple as they celebrated his 40th birthday with a crowd earlier this month Along with a lovely photo and a lengthy caption, she wrote: “Darling Jack, happy 40th birthday, darling, I know it’s strange and bittersweet as you lost your beloved father Mick and he was your best friend.
It hurts so much to see you miss someone so much but do you know I understand your grief? And I felt your pain when I lost my brother. And I know in time you too will be grateful for the gift of ‘he played such an important role in your life and will always be with you’.”
