Shane Harding (27), from Devon, married Turkish hairdresser Mert (28) after meeting her in Istanbul two years ago while Shane was undergoing surgery.
A woman who married a Turkish hairdresser within 90 days of meeting on holiday says they have been the target of cruel trolls.
Shane Harding (27), from Devon, married Mert (28), who works as a hairdresser in Turkey, after meeting her in Istanbul two years ago. Last year, the couple decided to get married on TLC’s reality show 90 Day Fiance. The show follows eight Brits in long-distance relationships looking for love, some of whom meet for the first time on the show.
Viewers witness the culture clashes, explosive family drama and problems that come with a long-distance relationship with a stranger. Shane and Mert seem nothing less than happier since joining the show, and regularly document their life on Shane’s TikTok account.
In May, Mert said in a post that he had “finally got a visa decision” which would allow him to stay in the UK for life with his bride. It must have been a huge relief for the couple, who were forced to make a four-hour journey between the two countries just to spend time together.
The couple have been hit by brutal trolls who accuse Mert of marrying Shane in order to get a visa. One person wrote with a thumbs up: “Visa secured.” Shane responded to the comment saying: “Wow, get it together.” One person wrote: “I love you both,” while another said the couple were “just legendary.”
Murray Boland, creative director for the production company, said: “The American series is absolutely brilliant and we’re so excited to be bringing it to the UK.”
