Prince Harry posted the emotional video speaking about “healing and saving lives” just days after his highly publicized reunion with Prince William.
The message was released ahead of the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada.
The Duke of Sussex, who turns 40 a week from Saturday, delivered the heartfelt message in a clip posted to the @InvictusGames25 account on social media platform X.
Prince Harry said: “Sport has the power to heal, change lives and save lives.
“For many of the athletes, stepping onto the starting line has been one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
“But the game changes their lives and to witness these magical moments and watch the sport that makes it possible is so special for all of us.”
The news came just days after it was reported that Prince Harry had travelled to the UK to attend a private memorial for his uncle, Sir Robert, at Fellows. William, who had a strained relationship with his brother for many years, also attended the funeral.
Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 and it has been his passion project ever since. The games will showcase the talents of wounded, injured and sick soldiers.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry is reportedly planning to live up to his reputation as a party animal with his upcoming birthday party next week.
Experts say the prince will celebrate his 40th birthday on September 15 with a lavish party in California. The focus will be on his wife, Meghan Markle, 43, and their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibeth, 3.
Some of the couple’s celebrity friends are expected to attend, but sources say it’s highly unlikely that anyone from the royal family will fly across the pond to attend.
