Prince William could play a “surprise prank” on Prince Harry birthday, a royal expert claims.
The Duke of Sussex, who currently lives in the US, will celebrate his 40th birthday on Sunday, September 15.
While the Duke will likely spend his actual birthday with his wife and their children, it is also said that Prince Harry will visit a California retreat with close friends to celebrate the big day.
As reported by the Mirror, King Charles and Prince William are unlikely to see him on his big day, although they were by his side when Charles turned 30 in 2014. However, they are likely to resolve their ongoing dispute on Sunday.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward told the magazine: Although his active career was over, he continued to remain loyal to the military.
“He founded the Invictus Games and the first tournament was held in London in September 2014, around the time of his 30th birthday, which was a huge success. King Charles will be celebrating his son’s 40th from afar.
“Round birthdays are important to the royal family and whatever fuss Harry has caused will all be forgotten on this day.”
Of Harry, she added, “Harry celebrated his 30th birthday with pals at a big dinner at Clarence House. He will be celebrating his 40th birthday in the sunshine of Montecito with his wife and two children. He says he is happier now, and we hope so too.”
In a statement to the BBC about his upcoming birthday, Prince Harry said he is “thrilled” to be celebrating his 40th birthday this weekend. “I’m looking forward to turning 40 now.
No matter how old I get, my mission is to continue to be present and to continue to do good in the world. Being a father to two incredibly kind and funny children has given me a new perspective on life and helped me focus on all my work.”
He also spoke about the joy of being a father to Archie, 5, and Archie, 3. Lilibet, 1: “Becoming a father has been one of the greatest joys of my life and has made me even more determined and committed to making this world a better place.”
